Pagan Reading Suggestions

Updated: Nov 27, 2022

As i get closer to the podcast with Astrea Taylor, I have been thinking about many things. Sometimes when we read it's hard to focus on the material. As many are aware we all learn in our own ways. Some find it easier to listen to others read, while some prefer to read to themselves. Some read aloud or within the walls of their own mind. When it comes to reading many authors will write in one chapter and refer to another. Every book has its way of flow in which the reader is pushed to follow. For this is how it's meant to be structured for those wanting to learn.Which is fine for most that don't deal with scattered minds. But for those of us with ADHD or attention disorders, it can be overwhelming. It's common to hear. I can't stop the chatter of my own mind. This is why meditation isn't always the best for those dealing with it. Last night while reading I decided to do the bibliomancy method. For those who don't know what bibliomancy is. It is when you take a book that you feel speaks truth or knowledge. You close your eyes ask your question and flip blindly. You will get an energetic pull that will guide you to place your finger to stop.

Now when I did this last night I asked a few questions. 1. Who do I need to work with? 2. Who do I need to heal with? 3. Who is calling to me? 4. What area do I need to improve? 5. Who should I go to for guidance in the following year?

Now do you need to do what I did ? No. But is it more fun? YES! This is easy to do since how the book is structured. You can even ask this such as. 1. What do I need to learn? 2. What insight do I need? 3. Who's guiding me?

These are fun ways to communicate with the gods in this book. Also to bring insight into areas one may need assistance. It can be confirmation for some or validation for others. Each God rules over a variety of things. Each mythos provides a moral story. It is also a fun way to learn without feeling overwhelmed. Which is why I appreciate the structure the authors gave. Imagine needing answers and stumbling upon a passage or ritual. You look at the deity/spirit associated. Not sure why you are being guided, but it feels right.

Many times its things like this that help you find an entity to work with. Possibly a realization or revelation that comes from a random experience. This can be done with any book that is written in such a way. But for those of us on a greek path, it's perfect to do with this book.

Modern Witchcraft With The Greek Gods comes out on December 8th.
