Ever since my stroke, I have made some changes to my life on what I needed to do for my health and for the sake of the community. After a much-needed sabbatical that I'm still taking to revamp The Devine Witch, I have finally chosen to reopen. It won't be anytime this year, as I want to take the time to continue my healing journey and revamp our process. Alot of changes will be happening to The Devine Witch in the year 2026. But all are going to be for the betterment of the group as a whole and allow the stress of the past to stay in the past. During my time running TDW, I found myself in a competition to stay relevant and meet the masses' expectations. After my health scare last year, I found that it's to much to do to try and be everything all at once. So when we retur,n it will be a back to basics and to the root and core of what witchcraft is and can be. In this societ,y the expectation of what we should be as a group and as witches adds so much pressure. I myself was not immune to its pull of cause and effect, and thus led me to not be the efficient leader I so desperately was trying to be.
My time away gave upon some time to reflect not only on my personal life, but the life in the public eye and how I respond to it. Stress can be the destroyer of a good group, and I was under so much stress that it almost cost me my life. So going forward, we are looking to explore an open and freeing experience along with expanding on what we already had. Unlike in the past, I dont want to jump the gun so to speak and say this and this is what we are planning. But just know witch in the woods will still be a thing and a winter ball as well. But we also got two big projects that will blow up not only us as a whole but our community as well. Down below are some of the changes we are making in the revival of The Devine Witch group and events as a whole.
Networking
We will continue to push people in the right directions for information. But we will no longer be assisting other groups nor promoting them on the scale we had in the past. It's alot of work as it is to do one for your own group yet along the slew of others. We will love and support our neighboring sister and brother groups while maintaining our own yard so to speak.
Events
Events will be done seasonally as this is what works best for us behind the scenes.
Event location and any requirements that are needed are being researched in the year of 2025. This way we meet all standards by the parks we accompany.
Vendors
From now on the following will apply to any vending that we allow in the future. Since some locations require us to fill out event information and have insurance to be able to hold events. We had to make some changes to who we allow to vend and how we go about vending.
All vendors must have insurence
All vendors who fill out a vending application if accepted will be going through a vetting process in which they will show up for a mock run. This means set up and how they interact with customers as wee have had vendors who show up and treat customers as pest rather than as a potential loyal customer.
All vending fees will be required 30 days after being accepted and payment will need to be presented at the mock up event set up.
All vendors must agree to code of conducts for events and understand that they must stay with their booths during the duration of a event. Any vendor who leaves a event early without notifying staff will be banned from any future event.
Volunteers
We will no longer be accepting volunteers who have not met the following requirements
- Attended events for up to 6 months prior
- Can show they are dependable and reliable
- Have shown they can keep their oaths
These are the bare minimum requirements we will be expecting from any community member wishing to volunteer. It alliviates those who back out at last minute and provide better service for our community.
Priest/Priestess
Currently, half of our members have already went through their process to become priest/ess. By the time we open events back up in the summer of 2026 all will be ordained. This allows us to serve the community better and each member has a different background which includes but not limited to Greek, Norse and Celtic.
Funding
Over the years we have had many types of funding for events and the majority came out of mine and our staffs pockets. We will be setting up a patreon along with a donation link that anyone can donate to at any time. These funds are being placed into the group banking account that has two signers to access funds for events and supplies. During each quarter we will be releasing a statement of where funds are being allocated to or have been used for.
These are a few of the changes that we are planning on implementing into the future and something that will push us into the right direction. So thank you to all of you who wished for us to come back and those who wished me good health. I appreciate that we have been such a impact on our community and others to have such great support
