There once was a witch who lived in her house, not in a forest, nor in a swamp, but in a small town that she loved most of all. Inside her home was all types of smells from cinnamon to clove you'd always smell. Her home adorned many colors and not one was more extravagant than the other. Symbols galore lined the walls that she would swear that it brought abundance and happiness to all. One day I came over with mom to see, nan in her kitchen stirring the cauldron times three. She smiled when she saw me and cackled with glee as a jumped in her arms like a magickal jumping bean.
It had been 12 full moons since I last saw her face and to my surprise, nothing had changed. She said to me that she missed me so much that she'd call to the moon asking for you both to come home. She showed me around of the things she had received and a glimmer caught my eye of something gold and shiny. I tilted my head to the left than the right examining what could this be before my eyes. It glimmered so brightly and showed my reflection and I thought to myself what is this contraption? Nan placed her hand on my shoulder and whispered in my ear,"Do you want to hear the story of how this came here?'' She asked.
Without missing a beat I scurried to the couch with a blanket in hand and eyes wide about. As I watched Nan take a seat and look at me with glee. She began her story as she always does with a wave of the hand to set the scene. You know im a witch this is no doubt , but did you know that I fly all around? Well, one moonlit night not too long ago as I called to the moon for you to come home. I headed to the sky to see if my answers were heard and as I began to fly I could feel a sudden urge. Straight ahead and to the left the call I heard I could not get out of my head. So I looked all around and started to stare at the ground. I swear it felt like I was going around and around. The same old trees past the township line. Past the little creek where the owls loved to sleep at night. But the feeling I felt I could not ignore it as I kept hearing it, but not seeing it for sure. At one moment I thought maybe its time to head home, But the great goddess always knows. So I said to myself "one more time.'' That's when I saw it poking out from the dirt left behind. The closer I got It to begin to gleam, I wondered to myself what in the world could this ever be. As I landed and pushed the dirt to the side out pops this bell that was trying to hide. It rang so loud I swear it could of woken the dead. So I tucked it in my bag giving it a final pat and said to myself here we go.
Once I got home the first light came to pass and I took a nice long stretch and a lengthy nap. But when I woke up I remembered about this bell and took it to my room and cleaned it off for a spell. The more I seen it start to become clean , it shined like a diamond not like any I had seen. I thought to myself how odd this can be a little magickal bell that was calling out to me. It was in that moment it began to ring. DING DING DING is what it begin to sing out to me as it scooted along the table to me. I thought to myself "now how can this be?". Before I knew it the thing went off again and I thought to myself I hope this ends. That moment I heard a second ring come about and who would of known it was your mother calling out. As I talked to her about you coming here. I thought to myself is it possible this bell that I heard so well, called to me so I could finally know that my calls had been found? That my dear is the story of how this came about and found itself a home inside these halls.
I looked at her with a gleam in my eye thinking to myself one day how much I would love to fly high in the sky. As she watched my face she must of known because she followed up with not until you are grown. For you see a broom doesn't fly until the day of your fifteenth birthday has finally arrived. Once that has come to be that is when you go on a journey to find the one that calls to thee. You must make it your own and protect it you must for it a part of you as you are of it. But take my heed little witch, You can only fly during the full moon or you'll end up in a ditch. When the time comes for you to take flight we shall fly together across the moonlit sky.
