Some of us found the path by books or by blood and even hollywood has shined a light . As a diverse pagan community we have so many different paths and ways to worship. Which shows just how diverse we are as a group and how far we have come. We also have those amongst us who follow the old ways of worship and pass down the traditions. We evolve just like anything else does which brings new ideas and opinions with it .But how do we speak to one another without getting lost in translation. We've all seen it that maybe someone posts something and next thing you know bam the conversation is alive. But does that mean that these conversations aren't valid? Does it mean that its this way or that way and nothing in between? Everything you can think of from terms to magickal tools of use or ritual structure can differ. Each of us has a opinion on what we think is right and wrong or what to use for this or that. But does that mean that we are either wrong or right ? The answer is No! Just because something doesn't follow what we been taught doesn't mean its any less important. We can even grow and expand with each person we meet and who knows learn something new . One thing that i think is universally clear is knowledge in our paths is never ending and test and trials within one's life prove that. How many times have we heard they were put before me to teach me a lesson. That is the universe , deities , guides , spirits or ancestors way of teaching us what we have yet to learn.
It's so easy to say i am done with this or what is the point and just label it like everything you've seen before. But how can it ever change if we remain in silence ? The simple answer is it can't and it won't until we open ourselves up to try and understand. Just as i write this blog i know some will understand some won't and for some it will be a ahha moment. But just by being here and reading this you gave me a chance to be heard. Who knows maybe you will end up having this conversation with your circle or community. Its one thing to give guidance when asked its another to dismiss someone's path because it differs. This not only applies to the magickal community but the human race in general. We can only take a step towards understanding if we take the time to listen. All i can say is this at one point in time we all thought we knew something. Only to discover years down the road some new information via a discovery came about. Which then made our previous knowledge obsolete from what it really is . You Remember when Pluto was a planet than not a planet and than was recognized as a dwarf planet.
We also talk alot about history within our paths and the genocides that came with them from certain groups that formed. Which i get is harmful and sad to look back on the knowledge and the lives lost and still being lost to this day. We are to acknowledge the past but not to be consumed by it. How can we say don't judge us on who you think we are , If we are judging others based off of their faith just because of the history behind that faith. Yes we all have a history with paths that we left or people we came across from paths that discriminated against us . But we also know just because one person or ten act a certain way that doesn't mean they all do . Just like we don't all cast spells or identify as pagan but get put under the pagan umbrella term. We choose our path because it's what felt right for us and who we are . Same thing applies for other people of religious backgrounds as well. The reason why our path is so popular in this day in age is because we are one of inclusivity and diversity. So before we get into 2020 let's set the bar high and have the tough conversations. We may not agree on everything , But we can't find solutions if we never even start the discussion.
