When it comes to finding pagan shops in Ohio, for many of us these places are more than just shops. They are the places in which we gather with our community and find a safe space for us to intertwine within. Giving us not just validation of who we are, but giving us somewhere we can be ourselves freely. Here in Middletown, Ohio, we have been blessed to have such places within our city. But one seems to stand out and continue to persevere in the waters of the world around us and continue their love of community.
When I first stumbled upon Roos Realm many years ago. Before I started my pagan community path and dived into my priestesshood. I stumbled upon this shop which at the time was located on germantown rd.
I remember the smell of incense burning and the vibration of a cozy witch-infused atmosphere that only some dream of achieving. As I dived inward looking upon the walls within this little magickal place. I was greeted by the owner of the shop whom eventually I would be able to call a friend. They spoke to me about what started it all and thier goals of creating a safe space for pagans. During this time they was one of the only shops of its kind within Middletown, Ohio. As times were different and it wasn't common to find such shops in every town. As years went on I got to watch as the shop and the owner progressed and changes came about. I got to see the losses and the wins that plague all shop owners and how one must keep on pushing forward. For many have forgotten this little shop and the wonders it keeps within our community. But as we know all good things can not be hidden nor forgotten for long.
Even during those hard moments in the shadows, It did not stop the will of the witch behind the store. But making it more important to go forth into the community and walk the path that many of us know as the well-worn path. Through the outreach, they have accomplished within not only the pagan community. But as a representation of a strong independent member of the LGBTQ community. They have continued to give strength and guidance to those who they encounter and provide a safe space for local pagan crafters to display. One may see these as mere words of admiration and to some part it is true. Yet how can one not be inspired by the transparency and abundance of care an individual has. As a community, it is easy for us to judge the places we see as we don't see the impact they have. Along with a true passion for sharing knowledge and sharing a space with those around them. Free from the nonsensical rhetoric that we find within many of our spaces.

In all the meetings and events I've been able to either host or attend, one thing has always remained clear. We need more pagan-friendly spaces that we can have and support within our community. As we all know without us as a community shops like Roos Realm are unable to thrive and continue providing such spaces. When we find places such as Roo's Realm that offer so much in our community we must do our part in keeping the dream alive. Taking the time to shop locally isn't only beneficial to our economy. But also helps bring forth a representation of what and who pagans are. In any city you go to you can find a church on almost every corner and yet for us our spaces are limited. In the modern context of spaces available for pagans to gather it is the shops that are the backbone of our community. We all have goals to help those not only spiritually but also find resources in times of need. As Roos Realm is one of the founding shops that have opened their doors to Dagda's Cauldron. They help bring valuable resources through canned items and donations to Dagda's Cauldron. As this shop has seen the issues of food insecurities that plague this town and others like it.
Once again we get to support this wonderful shop and its pursuit of uplifting the community. As March 18,2023 from 12p.m. - 3p.m we will be holding "Guide To The Gods" at Roos new location 1108 central ave middletown ohio,45044. Even though they are not fully up and running they have opened their doors to us. To help provide educational information to the public. As guide to the gods brings upon knowledge and experience. As the image to the left shows the heart in which thrives within these new walls. If you can come on out to guide to the gods and show your love for Lauranne and those who make Roos Realm amazing. As they will be speaking about their devotion to Hera. Along with the future plans of what Roos Realm will be not only offering as a shop but as a vital part of the community.
