When religion starts dictating the basic human rights of others, It becomes a problem. We ask how things are possible in history and how could things happen like that. But yet we live in times such as these that show how ideology can lead to suppression. I've never had issues with the message of love and unity and moral guidance.
But what we see displayed in this world and in our own country when it comes to religious and personal freedoms. It becomes infringed on and places people in life-ending situations. When it comes to abortions I do believe a limit should be had. But I also believe that the line of defining those limits is blurred. Not all stories are the same and some people honestly don't care about the consequences they have on their bodies. Till they are faced with a harsh reality of it. The saying you made your bed now you have to lay in it. Is something I heard most of my life and means the actions of one should be held accountable. Which I agree if a choice is made one should be held accountable. But my issue lays in the fact of those who don't have a choice. Who is forced and it happens a lot more than statistics can show.
When Roe Vrs Wade was overturned it wasn't just the right to abortions that went with it. It also is your medical informational freedom as well. There is still Hippa, but that only covers so much in protecting one's personal medical information. As we know loopholes are always created and ways to screw another over are vast. As a woman, I don't see why women's bodies are such a fascinating thing that everyone wants to place their hand on the conversation. Women have fought for a lot of different freedoms and still do today. Personal choice and personal freedoms seem to get pushed aside but why. I've heard many people fantasize about the 50s as the golden age. But what was golden about it was, Women could be beaten just for moving the wrong way. Children weren't protected and were often ignored when they spoke out. Many women and countless others suffered in silence. Using alcohol or drugs to make it from day to day.
I've seen both sides of the fence when it comes to abortion. I've seen what a forced abortion can do to someone's mental health decades down the line. I've also seen others who were forced to have a child and the same mental health issues that caused. Not every issue we will agree on. But when you make laws prohibiting one body from contraceptives. Then make laws outlawing abortions, what is the win for this? With women's bodies, we think of what a future me or husband may want. When in reality we live in the moment. Why can a man go get a vasectomy at 18 but a woman cant get her tubes tide until she meets a certain requirement?
I know this is a lot but I'm finally able to process it all and I know some will use this as a way to start an argument. Which it is what it is at this point. In the end, I don't care your religious path or personal views.I worry about my daughters and their future because we never know what can or will happen. Maybe down the road a better solution will come to pass. Untill than I seriously worry about my friends , my family and those who are gonna be lost by this decision.
